Hitler devotee’s primary victory informs the state of the GOP base

It would be a monumental miscalculation to assume that the alt-right’s poor showing in Washington over the weekend was a sign that the white supremacist movement is not as robust as it was directly following Trump’s poorly attended inauguration.

In fact, based on the number of alt-right (Nazi) candidates running for public office as Republicans, the white supremacist movement is growing with support of the party of Trump. No American should be fooled by “official party” criticisms of Republican candidates running under the Trump-Aryan banner because there are never any “official” condemnations until the candidates’ bigotry is widely exposed.

A perfect example occurred last week in Missouri after a Hitler sympathizer’s easy primary victory for the state legislature. That win informs that white supremacists are taking control of the GOP because they have support of the base, as well as the white supremacist-in-chief Trump.

It was only a race for the Missouri state legislature, but the victory of a conservative Christian renowned for raging against Jews, Muslims, LBGTQ Americans and any other non-Aryan, non-Christian person is a portent that the GOP is rapidly becoming the “official” party of white supremacists. Of course racists and all manner of religious bigots flocked to Republicans prior to Trump, but they were primarily closeted bigots; anti-gay and anti-women Republicans were never in the closet, they were in mega-churches with mega broadcast networks.

The racist, Steve West, easily won the four-way Republican primary race for a Missouri house seat by 25 points, garnering nearly 50 percent of the vote. West is, besides a Republican politician, an alleged “businessman” and KCXL radio show host. He is also a raging anti-Semite and a devotee of Adolf Hitler whom West asserts had the right idea in “dealing with who was behind” what was happening in Nazi Germany.

The Kansas City Star, in an effort to describe West’s background after his victory, reported that last week on his  radio show West promoted “fanatical conspiracies” about “Jewish cabals harvesting baby parts through Planned Parenthood, and torturing and molesting children.” West also claims that they [Jews] “run the Republican Party” he belongs to. And as far as his adoration of Adolf Hitler, West celebrated the evil monster claiming:

Looking back in history, unfortunately, Hitler was right about what was taking place in Germany. And who was behind it.

The only thing West did not do was praise Hitler for his solution to the “who” behind what the dictator claimed was taking place in Germany.

The “Star” also reported that West hosts a YouTube channel where he is less restrained from spouting his particularly dangerous brand of Trumpism – demeaning and defaming non-Aryans and non-Christians. Apparently West “dons a wig and fake beard and calls himself Jack Justice … unleashing an array of bigotry including homophobia, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and outright racism.”

West’s Democratic opponent, incumbent State Representative Jon Carpenter, hoped that the people who voted for West simply were unaware of his views. That is highly doubtful since West is the host of a radio talk show and not some character who crawled out of an alley. Mr. Carpenter issued an email statement:

“I just want everyone who lives in this community to know that they’re welcome here. Muslims, Jews, Catholics, the LGBTQ community, people of all races and national origins, and everyone else Steve West has targeted with hate. His views do not reflect our values. We’ll stand together and love will conquer hate, as it always does.”

That West won a four-way race by 25 percentage points, if typical of the GOP base, is a bad omen that the nation is even more deeply divided than even a dark cynic might have thought. Of course the Missouri Republican Party issued a statement disavowing West as one of their “fine people,” but the group waited two days after West won to issue a statement saying in part:

Steve West’s shocking and vile comments do not reflect the position of the Missouri Republican Party or indeed of any decent individual. West’s abhorrent rhetoric has absolutely no place in the Missouri Republican Party or anywhere. We wholeheartedly condemn his comments.”

Like all official Republican Party condemnations, it is purely for convenience and far too late. Where were the official condemnations prior to the primary? West has been a hateful broadcast bigot long enough that the party knew who they allowed on their ballot; just like the RNC knew what kind of bigoted pig Trump is and yet they still support him. No sane human being can imagine the RNC or GOP Congress  issuing an “official” statement condemning Trump’s “shocking and vile comments” or his perpetually “abhorrent rhetoric;” because they appreciate that it incites the base to flock to the polls. West’s shocking and vile comments and abhorrent rhetoric certainly incited Missouri Republicans to vote for the Hitler-loving anti-Semite.

Regardless of the accusations Omarosa Manigault-Newman made about Trump being a racist and using the “N” word to refer to African Americans, there are plenty of indications that he is a bigot inciting his racist base he knows oppose any non-Aryan and non-Christian. His attack on professional athletes exercising their rights under the Constitution is specifically focused on African Americans to divide the nation.

His praise of the “very fine” alt-right (Nazis) after they brutally assaulted peaceful protestors in Charlottesville was offered as an official commendation to “his people.” On the anniversary of Charlottesville, he issued another dog whistle condemning “all types of racism;” he did spend the 2016 campaign convincing his base that there is raging discrimination and institutionalized bias against white people, and it is a beliefthat is growing among Republicans.

As much as Democrats, and decent human beings, should beware of the powerful evangelical extremist voting bloc in an important midterm election, they should give particular attention to the white supremacist bloc. They are just as driven as the fundamentalist cult, and most certainly hate the same people as the religious right.

As an aside, although evangelicals claim to support Israel, it is only because it is cited in their scriptural mythos. If the Christian’s bible said that Havana was the home of the “chosen people” and the site of an Earth-shaking spiritual battle, Israel would just be another Middle East country and Cuba would get an inordinate amount of taxpayer dollars and weaponry. It is important to remember that Nazi Germany was a Christian nation with support from the Christian, primarily Catholic, population and they participated in an unimaginable atrocity against the Jews. In addition, despite the complete demise of the Aryan Reich, many German Christians wanted the Nazi leadership back after the war.

It almost seems natural for a bigot like Steve West to run for office as a Republican after praising Hitler and using flagrantly bigoted dog whistles; his is aping Trump and tapping into his base. If Trump is not inciting racial and religious animus against non-Aryans and non-Christians like Hitler, he is doing his best to rule with an iron fist like der Führer. It should be unfathomable that a publicly acknowledged bigot like West could run for political office anywhere in America and beat his opponents handily, but this is Trump’s America now and the Republican base is sick with white supremacists and evangelical extremists.

Fearful of Liberals, Alt-Right Cancels Massive Book Burning

During the presidential campaign there was a wealth of reporting and commentary describing how closely Trump’s rhetoric was to that of Adolf Hitler as he guided his Nazi party’s dominance in Germany. That being the case, it isn’t surprising that America’s Nazis lovingly embraced Trump as one of their own; and not only because he adheres to their dreams of a purely Aryan America. Neo-Nazis may be ignorant and hate-filled, but they are also well-versed, like Trump, in Hitler’s tactics and machinations necessary to wipe out cultural, political, and religious opposition; all of which are crucial to any aspiring tyrant’s success.

As many Americans discovered after the events in Charlottesville Virginia, the majority of American people are not as easily maneuvered, frightened or intimidated by hate as the white supremacists expected. In fact, it turns out that the neo-Nazis and white supremacists comprising the so-called “alt-right” are terrified when decent Americans stand up to their vile acts.

Last week, at about the same time Nazis began crying that they were afraid after “the left” exposed them as haters resulting in the public’s harsh condemnation, an alt-right fanatic was canceling an event taken right out of 1933 Nazi Germany out of fear of being confronted by “the left.”

The event was a good old-fashioned book burning organized by an alt-right rising star, Juan Cadavid, and a representative of the Three Percenters, Brian Enright. The book burning was slated to be held at Huntington State Beach in California and was dubbed “Burning Degeneracy – CA.” The idea of literature opposed by the event’s organizers being labeled “degenerate” was a favorite tactic of 1930s Nazis to justify purging anything contrary to “Nazi ideology and policy.”

Although the Nazis were not necessarily pushing morality borne of religion on German society, they were very adept at using that term “degenerate” to justify all of their atrocities. That is according to the U.S. Holocaust Museum in explaining that in “1933 Germany Nazis purged cultural organizations of Jewish and other officials alleged to be politically suspect or who performed or created art works which Nazi ideologues labeled ‘degenerate.’” And, the museum also noted that part and parcel of wiping out what Nazis regarded as “degenerate” included “book-burning to censor cultural, religious, or political opposition.”

According to a report in “The OC Weekly,” the Nazi impersonators advertised their book burning as an event to show and “tell the people that it is time to purge their homes, their state, and their country of degenerate literature.

The description of the event on Facebook cited the type of literature the group considered degenerate and warranted destruction.

This includes literature of Marxism, Communism, Bolshevism, literature with liberal, democratic tendencies/attitudes, and writings supporting the decline of Western Culture. Books on sexuality and sexual education which serves to indoctrinate the life of degeneracy, such as Cosmo and Teen Vogue should be brought to the fire as well. We will also burn the Koran, publications such as Karl Marx, and more. We must create a future without degeneracy for our children.

After word spread about the proposed book burning around “the OC” (Orange County) and Los Angeles areas, “plenty of trolling took place on the discussion section of the event;s [Facebook] page,” the alt-right Nazis scuttled the event after seizing on the “violent alt-left” narrative pushed by the head Nazi Donald Trump. The uber-brave “three percenter” Enright canceled the event and issued a statement in support of “free speech and free expression.” Then he deleted the Facebook event page.

According to the book burning event’s organizers, despite planning to burn books, an assault on free speech and expression, they were frightened that liberals would exercise their free speech rights and protest the Nazi group’s freedom to destroy literature they deemed “degenerate.” In a statement expressing his “strong personal convictions” regarding free speech, so-called real patriot (three percenter) Enright told the OC Weekly:

Free speech in America is under attack and as much as I do not want to shut this event down due to strong personal convictions regarding free speech, I cannot be responsible for injury or death due to intolerance from the violent Socialists.

I do not want to go into a long explanation at this time. The event was in no way intended to eradicate these publications, more a symbolic way of showing that we do not approve of what is being taught to our children and maybe that should have been made clearer, I do not endorse the censorship of literature or personal political views in any way.”

Mass burning of literature, in most people’s minds, is endorsing censorship as much as it is endorsing 1930s Nazi tactics that included burning what they considered degenerate literature.

The takeaway from the “event’s” cancelation is that these alt-right Nazis are not only hypocrites in decrying other Americans’ free speech to protest against hate, they are cowards when faced with counter-protests. The good news over the past week-and-a-half is that it appears Americans are not going to be frightened into submission by, or tolerate, Nazis or their fascist tactics and that being vocal and resolute terrifies them silly.

For far too long, many pundits and commentators were quick to blow off warnings of the rising threat of white nationalism, white supremacy, and blatant bigotry that propelled Trump’s ascendancy to the White House. It is too bad too, because if more Americans were aware of the real threat Nazis and fascists posed through Trump, it is possible that more voters would have seen exactly what Donald J. Trump represented; a revival of 1930s Nazism. Tragically, that never occurred and now a 21st Century Hitler wannabe occupies America’s White House. It is a dangerous situation that Republicans show no sign of protesting making them as culpable as the idiot voters that put Trump in a place no Nazi belongs.

Charlottesville Was Alt-Right’s Prelude To Civil War

Any American paying attention to Trump’s presidential campaign quickly realized that he was not appealing to economically-challenged Americans, the working class, or people concerned about terrorism or national security. Whether it was the racist dog whistles or blatant attacks on minorities and immigrants, Trump pandered and appealed to racists and it is why they are growing dangerously ascendant every day.

It’s highly likely that Trump was only taken seriously as a presidential candidate by his “basketful of deplorables” because he spent several years attempting to delegitimize President Barack Obama based on the Trump lie that he was not a real American. Trump was smart enough not to call the President illegitimate simply because he was Black, but to racists and white supremacists Trump’s message was crystal clear; America belongs to the white man.

To be fair, the racial animus toward people of color did not start with Trump; it had been simmering since the 1960s and became a popular worldview among Republicans with Barack Obama’s election. That racial animus was accompanied by a new call to “take our country back” by conservatives who weren’t concerned about a Democratic administration, higher taxes or regulations; they were appalled that a non-white man had attained the highest office in the land. Although the so-called “alt-right” as a “named movement” would emerge a few years after President Obama’s election, it existed all the same under the neo-Nazi, white supremacist, Ku Klux Klan, white power and former-Confederate monikers.

No matter what the organizers of the deadly Charlottesville “rally” claimed publicly, they were not protesting over a statue’s removal; they were sending a signal that their crusade to recreate the Confederacy was underway. Any American who believes otherwise, or that the racist “alt-right Nazis” will stand down after Charlottesville haven’t been paying attention. The alt-right and all of its white supremacist iterations have already pledged to return to advance their crusade to create “a white man’s land.”

As Slate’s Tom Perriello noted, the rally’s organizers may have used the removal of a Confederate statue as it’s primary purpose of the protest, but after cries of “Heil Trump, blood and soil, and Jews won’t replace us,” it was nothing but a Nazi assault on America’s diverse population. The so-called “alt-right” has one goal that fits seamlessly with the former Confederacy and 1930s Nazi Germany: a nation ruled according to white supremacy. And that idea of a separate Aryan nation is what the movement’s leaders have been on a crusade to garner support for; restoring the Confederate States of America.

According to “League of the South” president, Michael Hill, his movement’s intent is clearly elucidated in a Facebook post titled “fight or die white man.” There can be little doubt what the “Unite the Alt-right” protest was really all about.

What we nationalists seek is nothing less than the complete re-conquest and restoration of our patrimony – the whole, entire South. And that means the South will once again be in name and in actuality White Man’s Land.”

The League of the South, Daily Stormer, Occidental Dissent, and several other “alt-right” related groups want to secede again and restore the Confederacy. And, if it means triggering a second Civil War, so be it. The League of the South has already “erected billboards that say ‘SECEDE’ in several states” including creating a banner for the coming battle to establish their “white man’s land;” a black and white version of the Confederate battle flag sans stars. The Associated press reported that, “Secession finds support on [alt-right related] websites that support white nationalism, including Occidental Dissent, and the openly racist, anti-Semitic Daily Stormer.

No American should think that the nation has seen the end of the violence accompanying the alt-right’s “rally” just because their champion (Trump) was pressured to call out the hate of white supremacists. In fact, although they pledged to descend on Charlottesville again, and started more trouble in San Antonio Texas over a different Confederate traitor’s “statue,” their intent is preparation to shed blood to create their “white man’s land.” It is a deep-seated goal they’ve harbored for generations and they are anxious for a reason, any reason, to wage war to achieve that goal. In case it seems too far-fetched to believe, the League of the South president alerted white nationalists to prepare for war. He wrote on Election Day, 2016:

If Trump’s enemies win, they will be coming for blood. If they lose, they will be coming for blood. And that’s fine with us. We have prepared for this day.”

Even though no-one except Trump’s supporters are “coming for blood,” after months of escalating their level of violent rhetoric,  a White House occupant’s tacit support, and a message that the time has come to get strong for battle, the alt-right is telling its supporters to prepare for violence to create a white man’s land. After what happened in Charlottesville, their threats cannot be dismissed as “bluster” any longer. They are deadly serious, heavily armed and have several allies ensconced in the White House and more government agencies than most Americans are aware of.

Charlottesville Nazi Terror Is Down To Donald Trump

Anyone who has been keeping abreast of the angst roiling among the white-supremacist, alt-right Nazi movement and feigns surprise at the outbreak of violence or the intent of the alt-right protestors this weekend is being completely disingenuous – a kind word for lying. The city, and indeed the region, where hundreds of alt-right protestors gathered and violence broke out was predicted by the aspiring Confederate soldiers calling themselves the “alt-right.” They had been saying openly since early May that officials  messing with monuments dedicated to the memory of their treasonous Confederate heroes were courting danger. It explains why the city “had been bracing for a sea of alt-right demonstrators” all week.

Actually, the protest was said to be the result of a year-and-a-half-long controversial debate over the fate of a Robert E. Lee statue. There have been violence-prone protests in other Southern states over removal of Confederate monuments and as no small number of news sites reported in May, “emotions and tempers are flaring” at the loss of white supremacist symbols. The white nationalist movement felt emboldened because they see in Trump a white supremacist champion with a powerful voice who pledged to help the white supremacists “take their country back.”

Although the protest in Charlottesville began ostensibly as racist opposition to taking down a statue of a man rivaling Adolf Hitler as king of white supremacy, a white supremacist champion quickly provided the real reason and true intent of the raging alt-right (Nazi) gathering. That silly Confederate statue was just a symbolic gathering place for the neo-Nazis who want their white supremacist Confederacy back.

Renowned white supremacist and former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke was blunt in explaining why the Nazis were gathered together and why they wore  helmets, chanted anti-Semitic epithets, carried torches, and wooden shields. Duke said:

We’re going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump to take our country back.”

To validate Duke’s remark, one white supremacist who travelled from Missouri to Virginia was unabashed in explaining his reason for showing up: “I’m tired of seeing white people pushed around.” And if there is any doubt whether the neo-Nazis and alt-right racists were emboldened by Trump’s campaign promise to ‘make America white again,’ Duke reminded reporters that most of the white nationalist protesters carried campaign signs for Trump.

Duke was joined by other ‘prominent’ white supremacists who took up torches, helmets and wooden shields and chanted Nazi-era slogans to descend on the university founded in 1819 by Thomas Jefferson. And to belabor the point that the Confederate monument was a secondary reason for Nazis to protest, they were chanting Nazi phrases such as “You will not replace us” and “Jews will not replace us.” Those slogans, like “blood and soil,” were not taken up by the Confederacy; they were unique to Nazi Germany.

After Trump tepidly condemned the violence, and insanely blamed both sides for the “hate and bigotry,” David Duke’s response further revealed this alt-right protest and Nazi violence was all about the white supremacist movement acting on Donald Trump’s campaign promise to “make America white again.

Duke unleashed a couple of angry Tweets to be sure that Trump would get the message. He wrote:

So, after decades of White Americans being targeted for discriminated (sic) & anti-White hatred, we come together as a people, and you attack us?”

And, “I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists”

Duke needs to remember that Trump did not attack the white supremacists because he knows they are acting on his behalf; he blamed the bigotry, hate and violence on “many sides” giving the Nazis the slack they’ll use for the next “protest.” There were plenty of calls for Trump to specifically call out his white supremacist supporters’ horrific acts as “acts of terrorism.”

Charlottesville Mayor Michael Signer said the responsibility for the violence lay with Trump for inflaming racial prejudice throughout the presidential campaign. Mr. Signer said:

I’m not going to make any bones about it. I place the blame …  right at the doorstep of the White House and the people around the President.”

Senator Orin Hatch (R-UT) tweeted: “We should call evil by its name. My brother didn’t give his life fighting Hitler for Nazi ideas to go unchallenged here at home.”

Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida was more pointed and tweeted:

Very important for the nation to hear POTUS describe events in Charlottesville for what they are, a terror attack by white supremacists.

Another Republican Senator, Cory Gardner (R-CO) tweeted to Trump: “Mr President — we must call evil by its name. These were white supremacists and this was domestic terrorism.”

John McCain (R-AZ) didn’t specifically mention Trump, or his pathetically weak comment blaming everybody, but the Arizona senator harshly criticized the “violent attack” by un-American Nazis. McCain said:

White supremacists and neo-Nazis are, by definition, opposed to American patriotism and the ideals that define us as a people and make our nation special. As we mourn the tragedy that has occurred in Charlottesville, American patriots of all colors and creeds must comet together to defy those who raise the flag of hatred and bigotry.”

Trump is never going to defy or condemn the very people who were instrumental in his ascendancy to the White House; he believes in their cause and will protect their efforts. One of his first acts was instructing the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and all federal counter-terrorism programs to give the violent white nationalist movement and any other white extremist groups “space.” As reported here two weeks ago,  the alt-right Nazis celebrated the order and thanked Trump effusively for giving them what Americans witnessed this weekend; “Space to destroy. He’s giving us space to operate, and frankly, it is space to destroy.”

This violence at the hands of Trump’s alt-right Nazi supporters was, sadly, expected and predicted by a great number of Americans; including the white supremacists who went to a protest armed and looking for trouble. It is likely that Trump was the least surprised of any American and given an opportunity to specifically call out the white supremacists and alt-right Nazis, he ignored reporters’ queries and walked away without comment. Of course he had a comment, but even dumb Don knows better than to praise and thank his racist acolytes for a terror attack on his behalf in front of the press. A press that knows, like most Americans, this hideous white supremacist Nazi uprising and violence is all down to Donald J. Trump.

Alt-Right Extremists Praise Trump for Giving Them “Space to Destroy”

It is no secret that one of the factors leading to Trump being allowed to live in the White House was a substantial number of supporters who want to make America great by tearing the government down and making America whiter; alt-right hero Steve Bannon called it “dismantling the administrative state.” Part and parcel of that dismantling of the government is eliminating civil and equal rights protections the “administrative state” guarantees according to the U.S. Constitution; another part of the “government” the alt-right wants torn asunder.  Integral to what Trump’s supporters and the alt-right believed would “make America great againaccording to research reported last May was getting rid of Mexicans and Muslims for the alt-right’s white supremacist dream of a pure white evangelical America.

Shortly after taking office, Trump instructed the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and all federal counter-terrorism programs to give the violent white nationalist movement and any other white extremist groups “space” because they are not comprised of Muslims. This is despite the fact that Americans are seven times more likely to be killed by right-wing extremists than a Muslim attacker.  This “space” from Trump was incredibly inspiring, and welcomed, news for the alt-right (Nazi) movement and last weekend spokesmen for the white nationalist extremists praised Trump and alt-right champion Steve Bannon for giving them something they’ve lusted for a decade, the “space to destroy.”

Unencumbered by any federal law enforcement scrutiny, the neo-fascist alt-right is thrilled that under Trump and Bannon, they now have free reign to engage in building their hideous white supremacist movement without worrying about prying government or law enforcement eyes. The creator of the alt-right podcast network, “The Right Stuff” is Michael Peinovich and during a guest appearance on “Fash the Nation” Peinovich said:

He’s giving us space to destroy. He’s giving us space to operate, and frankly, it is space to destroy.”

One of the hate-podcast’s co-hosts, “an anonymous former Republican political staffer using the moniker “Jazzhands McFeels” chimed in and said:

Now is the time that we have to make hay while the sun shines . . . while these investigations of ‘domestic terrorist groups’ are not being funded by the government, they’re not being pushed by the Department of Homeland Security.”

Notice that the white supremacist remarked that “while the DHS isn’t investigating domestic terrorist groups,” the alt-right white supremacist movement believes they can operate with impunity. Any sane person would naturally conclude that according to the white supremacist’s remark, the alt-right movement considers itself a “domestic terrorist group;” and that is in addition to celebrating their newfound “space to destroy.” And it just gets more damning for the white supremacist group.

Peinovich all but admitted the group is guilty of criminal activities when he said:

We’d probably be facing fucking [racketeering] charges or some shit like that,” if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency. Now, however,  Peinovich said, “We have to use these four years to grow into something that can’t be defeated by that kind of thing” in referring to possible future federal investigations into the “domestic terrorists” in the alt-right, neo-fascist movement.

According to the former Republican staffer, the Trump administration “actively wants to encourage” the growth of the alt-right, neo-fascist movement and claimed the movement has no better authority in the White House than Steve Bannon. The alt-right fascists claim that Trump’s top strategist Bannon is “secretly” helping enable the white supremacist movement. The former GOP staffer said:

They expect us to be doing this. They want us to be able to operate in that space. So we should and we are.”

One of the racist leaders of the white supremacist movement, Richard Spencer was a guest on the podcast and he completely agreed with the other white supremacists. The alt-right leaders all concur that not only do Trump and Bannon want the  alt-right “domestic terrorists movement” to succeed and expand in numbers and power, they “gave them space to destroy” by redirecting the focus of the “Countering Violent Extremism” (CVE) program away from white nationalist extremists that make up the alt-right Nazi movement.

The CVE’s aim was “to deter groups or potential lone attackers through community partnerships and educational programs or counter-messaging campaigns in cooperation with companies.” But since the great majority of terror attacks and shootings are committed by white supremacists and white religious fanatics that make up Trump’s base of support, the CVE’s focus just had to change to give them what they needed most, “space to destroy.” The primary change was that the CVE could “no longer target groups such as white supremacists that have carried out the majority of bombings and shootings in the United States.

The simple fact that these “alt-right” extremist groups are boasting over the airwaves that they “were given space to destroy” by Trump and Bannon informs the sad state of America under a fascist regime as well as the danger to the nation and its people. But that is the change Trump voters wanted and what they think will make America great; a nation terrorized by white supremacists and religious fanatics with free reign to destroy at will while enjoying impunity courtesy of  Donald Trump and his fascist cheerleader Steve Bannon.

Trump’s Silence Is Tacit Approval Of Calls to Kill All Liberals

It was likely that many Americans believed, errantly, that when Republicans took full control of the entire government, the increasing calls for violence against Democrats and the left would decline. Instead of declining, the raging vitriol and violent threats from the extreme right have “increased exponentially” since Trump’s election and ascendancy to the White House. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “annual survey” of hate groups, Trump’s “hostile rhetoric” has driven an “unprecedented rise” in the number of threats and groups dreaming of committing deadly violence against other Americans.

Tragically for Americans, those Trump-supporting hate groups now enjoy having a prominent voice in Washington’s mainstream politics including appearances on national television and participation in presidential press briefings. To make matters that much worse, they now have trusted representatives dolling out foreign and domestic policy advice in the White House with Trump’s alt-right champion and chief strategist, Stephen Bannon whose office is right next to the Oval.

One of Trump’s closest confidantes and greatest allies is renowned alt-right radical and conspiracy freak-of-nature Alex Jones. Jones is well-connected to the White House including being given access to Trump that he claims to be in frequent contact with. Add to that atrocity is Trump’s “appearances on Jones’ Infowars program praising his amazing reputation.” Obviously Trump uses Jones’ public reach to other anti-government fanatics as a propaganda tool including granting a White House press pass to a real progenitor of fake news – an Infowars “correspondent.”

Of all of Jones’ despicably “malicious rants and dark fantasies,” his most recent batch of “nascent ramblings” focus on the alt-right wet dream of a new civil war; a real threat to America. The call for a civil war was common during President Obama’s terms in the White House, but now that he’s not there, the alt-right has turned its lust for shedding Americans’ blood towards anyone not supporting Trump who has remained silent. In fact, an article on DailyKos asked the question; “Will Donald Trump Renounce Pal Alex Jones’ Threat to ‘Kill a Bunch of Liberals’?”

Since Jones’ threats to “kill a bunch of liberals” began in earnest well over a month ago, the answer is no. Trump will never renounce, much less criticize, Jones or anyone else’s calls for violence against his perceived enemies. For dog’s sake, Trump called on his 2nd Amendment supporters to act on his behalf to stop Hillary Clinton if she had won and appointed the “wrong” SCOTUS judge. Trump thrives on his cretinous devotees’ threats of violence; particularly if he perceives it is in defense of their vile demigod.  And based on Jones’ remarks, it certainly appears Trump not only will never condemn Jones’ dangerous rantings or threats of violence, he willingly parrots anything Jones says.

It is no coincidence that Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to call for criminal investigations into Hillary Clinton and former FBI Director James Comey. Jones recently appealed to Trump to “take action against Hillary Clinton and former FBI Director James Comey” for unspecified crimes. Jones even told Trump he would  “support the president making a military move on them right now.” Of course Jones, and most alt-right fascists, support extrajudicial actions against their perceived enemies; they are lawless fascist pigs.

Two days ago Newsweek reported that over the past month-and-a-half Jones and other alt-right fanatics are itching to”kill a bunch of liberals” while Trump remains mute and excited for the incitement of violence against liberals on his behalf. According to Newsweek:

“On June 23, he [Jones] accused ‘the left’ of starting civil war and offered to personally execute convicted traitors because, he said, ‘I’m not going to sit here and just call for stuff without actually being part of it. I don’t need some coming-of-age deal to kill a bunch of liberals, but ‘we have to start getting ready for insurrection and civil war because they’re really pushing it.'”

Pushing it” in Jones’ twisted alt-right mind is not supporting the fascist in the White House, and “starting a civil war” is not doing obeisance to Trump thrice daily.

Newsweek also noted that:

On June 15, he warned ‘you kick off Civil War 2, baby, you’ll think Lexington and Concord was a cakewalk.’You’re trying to start a civil war with people. You’re taking our kindness for weakness. Do you understand the American people will kill all of you? You understand? We are killing machines, you fools.… I can shoot bull’s-eye at 400 yards, dumbass. I mean, they have no idea who they’re messing with.‘”

Newsweek also printed parts of an Alex Jones’ proper profane tirade against an elected government official, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) that should have brought the full force of the law down on the fascist malcontent. It is a violation of the law to issue threats of violence against any elected official, but with Trump’s criminally-corrupt cohorts running the Justice Department, Jones is able to make threats over the airwaves with Trump-provided impunity.

Despite Jones’ tough talk, and threats of violence against liberals, he is just a coward with a megaphone and a connection within the White House. The real threat is his incitement to violence his conspiracy-minded devotees will take as a message straight from god’s mouth that will eventually bear fruit, and draw innocent Americans’ blood. And what is a bigger threat is Donald J. Trump’s silence his acolytes see as tacit approval to take action against anyone for opposing the alt-right fascists and their champion in the White House. Look, if the alt-right celebrated when a dyed-in-the-wool Republican and war hero was diagnosed with brain cancer, their threat of violence and lust for a new civil war is not against just liberals or Democrats; it is against any American who fails to bow down and worship Donald Trump which is why he will never renounce Alex Jones or any other alt-right fascist’s call to “kill all of you” liberals.

Trump Deplorables Claim God’s Justice Afflicted John McCain

One of the tragedies befalling America today, the gross lack of civility in the public discourse, didn’t start with Donald Trump and his tragic ascension to the White House, it began as a racist response to Americans electing an African American as President. Some Americans may recall that Barack Obama’s election was accompanied by an onslaught of racist and religious attacks by what is now the “alt-rightNazi movement that included evangelicals calling for ‘imprecatory prayers” targeting President Obama and his family.

For the ignorant, imprecatory prayers are biblical appeals to the evangelical god to kill whomever the faithful believe deserve to die a horrendous death.  The nasty evangelical right had no qualms publicly beseeching other “real Americans” to join their appeal to their “loving” god to strike down the President of the United States. It was, beyond doubt, a true representation of precisely what kind of “Christians” populated the conservative movement. Now, despite the evangelical crowd has a champion in the White House, the only thing that changed is the target.

This author had been recreating in the Sierra Nevada wilderness for a week without access to any news and was saddened to learn upon returning to civilization that Senator John McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer. Perhaps it is just a secular humanist thing, but under no circumstance is there ever a reason to celebrate a horrid diagnosis for anyone, much less a patriot who has served his country with honor and distinction throughout his entire adult life. Sadly, that is not the case among Donald Trump’s most rabid alt-right supporters and it is a stark reminder that they are pathetic excuses for human beings that perfectly represent the mindset of their hero in the White House.

It is true that Trump issued a statement, albeit a petty one, about Senator McCain, but it was too little too late after the atrocious comments he made about a true public servant over the last year or so. Remember, Trump claimed that after being shot down over enemy territory, severely injured, and held captive in a North Vietnamese prisoner of war camp for five years, that John McCain was “Not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

Trump also likes cowards such as one-hit wonder Ted Nugent who defecated in his own pants and feigned insanity to avoid serving his country when called on. He likes Nugent because Trump is a chickenshit coward who avoided serving his country when called.  According to the vitriolic comments targeting Senator McCain, there are a significant number of Trump’s alt-right supporters who worship the coward in the White House and attacked Senator McCain because he is not a Trump acolyte; something he has in common with every true American patriot.

The attacks on Senator McCain were not solely because he refuses to lick Trump’s boots, but because he is a statesman who set aside party politics and worked with Democrats for the good of the nation throughout his three decades in the Senate. Of course, since 2009 any Republican who failed to toe the teabagger, and now alt-right, line is a traitor; not to America, but to the racist religious alt-right movement.

Many of the comments targeting Senator McCain made reference to the term “cuckservative,” or “cuck” for short. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, “cuckservative” is a portmanteau combining “cuckold” and conservative. The pejorative “aims to depict conservatives who don’t kowtow to ultra-right political views as inept traitors to the conservative base.”

The truly nasty and hate-driven comments targeting Senator McCain, the majority that will not be printed on this page, represent precisely what is plaguing America and how a vile racist and evangelical minority has polluted the nation and decimated any sense of civil discourse. Some of the least offensive alt-right comments about a true American patriot are:

“Any death of a genuine eternal cuck should be celebrated. John McCain’s passing, assuming he passes, will do our race a lot of good and that’s what matters.”

“The last president for McCain will be Trump. There’s some godly justice right there. I’m pretty sure that God is punishing him. God made it pretty clear that he supports New Right now.”

“John McCain is a cuck, and liberals are using his ideological weakness as proof of his decency over Trump.”

“I have no empathy for my enemies. John McCain is my enemy. I hope it’s painful.”

Mike Cernovich, the epitome of what in street parlance is a punk-ass bitch and considered to be among the most vociferous members of the alt-right took to Trump’s media outlet Twitter to “implicitly defend” the horrid attacks on a lifelong Republican leader and war hero John McCain. According to Cernovich, the hateful alt-right attacks on McCain were exactly what he expects to hear from the adults in America. He wrote:

“I’m all for wishing cancer patients well but am not going to pretend McCain is anything but who he is. This is called being an adult.”

According to Cernovich, “being an adult” is learning that a Republican leader with a “striking record of military service” has brain cancer and saying:

“He’s a traitor and a psychopath. His interests are of the globalists. They all need to die, faster the better. Then we straighten things out.”

As noted by Alexander Nazaryan over at Newsweek, these attacks on Senator McCain “speak to the utter debasement of civic discourse” in America. And, as alluded to earlier, the debasement did not start with dirty Donald Trump, but since his emergence on the national stage he has made it the norm for his nasty alt-right adherents.

The news that Senator McCain has cancer was sad to hear and although his political leanings were often contrary to that of a secular humanist, he is a patriot and not simply because of his military service. But what is incredibly sad is that there are a significant number of Americans who have no fealty to America, much less their chosen political party because their cowardly hero is in the White House. Worse yet is that they have no sense of common decency, but that too is down to serving the interests of the Rusky-loving criminal occupying a place he should never be allowed to visit, much less reside.

It is difficult to imagine America ever emerging from the depth of depravity it has fallen into because of the religious and racists polluting civil discourse and now the government. And it is crucial to note that this “my way or the highway” conservative approach to governing began in 2009 when the Republican Party made a commitment to vehemently oppose anything contrary to the “ultra-right” political worldview. One can say whatever they want about Senator John McCain’s politics, but they can never say he didn’t work for the good of the nation and the people as he saw fit, including being a statesman and working with Democrats.

One hopes for nothing but the best possible outcome for Senator McCain and not simply because he is a “never-Trumper,” and not because he is a war hero or lifelong public servant. But because he is a human being and a true American;  something no reasonable American would ever begin to consider labeling Donald J. Trump or his filthy alt-right supporters.
